IQhayiya Care & Support House is an NPO for children living with physically and intellectually disabilities between the ages of 2 – 18 years and the Centre is based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. It is a 24 hour care facility. We take kids from all corners of the Western Cape and the neighbouring provinces.

 

Behind the company

 

Ntomboyise Phaqa (CEO/Founder)

Ntomboyise Phaqa has a Bachelor of Administration and a Degree in Social Work obtained at the University of the Western Cape. Ntomboyise has a sound business, sales, and good administrative skills and very good with people skills.

 

Nonkosi Nqulwana (Secretary)

Nonkosi Nqulwana has a Bachelor of Arts, Higher Diploma in Education and Bachelor of Education. Nonkosi skills and expertise are education, facilitator roles, and good administrative skills and very good with people and children.

Leletu Jikela (Public Officer)

Leletu Jikela has a National Diploma in Marketing obtained at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Leletu’s working experience is spread over 9 years within strong demand positions such as, administrative role, client services, business, marketing and project management. It is within these different positions where Leletu has developed expertise, standards and strategies.

To raise disability awareness in the communities so as to create a deeper and broader understanding of implications of disability in our society

  • To provide special care and support to children needing individual care for a short and long term (3months-indefinite)

 

  • To support parents of children with special needs to cope better with siblings and other family circumstances.

 

  • To empower mothers of children with special needs to do and speak for themselves and for the children.

 

  • To uplift social and physical environment where children with disabilities live

 

  • To alternatively educate parents of children with disabilities by sharing information relevant to their needs regarding children and disability

 

  • To enforce parenting skills development on young mothers

 

  • To educate kids with disabilities to be independent and to send those who have potential to LSEN schools to gain more knowledge to empower them

 

  • Our facility is the first of its kind in our area and it is an advantage to those kids in the neighborhood as they do not have to travel long distances to get services like the ones we render
